Prolight + Sound 2025: Showcasing the Future of Entertainment Technologies

The 30th Prolight + Sound exhibition, held in Frankfurt, Germany from April 8-11, 2025, drew a record-breaking 23,031 attendees from 108 countries to explore the latest advancements in entertainment technologies. This year’s show demonstrated the industry’s proactive approach to innovation, sustainability, and interconnectivity.

Global Reach and International Participation

The event attracted visitors from all corners of the world, with 36% coming from outside Germany. The attendees were predominantly trade visitors, with over half holding high-level decision-making and purchasing authority. The PA and lighting technology sections saw a significant increase in interest, with 83% of visitors expressing satisfaction with the event overall.

Key Themes: AI, Sustainability, and Flexible Technologies

Prolight + Sound 2025 centered around three main themes: ‘ProGreen: Impulses for a more sustainable event industry’, ‘FutureScapes: Worlds of experience between immersion and AI’, and ‘MultiTech: Flexible and smart’. The ‘ProGreen’ section focused on energy-efficient solutions and environmentally friendly event design, while ‘FutureScapes’ showcased AI-supported product innovations and immersive technologies.

  • The ‘MultiTech’ subject area highlighted flexible and smart solutions for various event formats, including multifunctional audio and lighting products and automated tracking and visualization systems.
  • These themes demonstrated the industry’s commitment to sustainability and innovative technologies.
  • The event also featured a practical educational platform, with over 200 speakers sharing their expertise across various panels and workshops.

Interactive Experience and Interconnected Design

Prolight + Sound 2025 offered a wide range of interactive experience formats, such as MusicOneX, the ‘MIXCON x BVD present DJ & Producer Conference’, and the MixLab. These events provided hands-on experimentation, creative expression, and practical learning opportunities for attendees.

Awards and Recognition

Next Year’s Show

The next Prolight + Sound will take place from March 24-27, 2026, promising to build on the momentum from the 2025 event.

Realigned Opus and Sinus Awards

The Opus prizes were renamed to include international submissions, and an audience vote was added to the decision-making process for the Sinus – Systems Integration Award and the Opus prizes. This change aims to increase the awards’ global appeal and competitiveness.
