Empowering Creators: BandLab and Sony Team Up to Revolutionize Music Creation

Today, BandLab and Sony announced a groundbreaking partnership that will empower creators and transform the music creation landscape.

Breaking Down Barriers with Spatial Audio

The first phase of the partnership will see Sony integrate its Spatial Sound technology, 360 Reality Audio, directly into the BandLab app, allowing users to experience and make music on spatial audio.

  • Users will be able to create music with spatial audio capabilities, opening up new possibilities for sound design and production.
  • This integration will provide a more immersive experience for music creators, allowing them to experiment with spatial audio in a more accessible way.
  • The partnership will also enable users to share and collaborate on spatial audio tracks, further enhancing the creative process.

A Curation of Spatial-Enabled Beats

Starting this summer, BandLab users will have access to a curated collection of spatial-enabled beats in the BandLab Sounds marketplace.

  1. These beats will be carefully crafted by Sony’s audio experts to provide a solid foundation for music creators to build upon.
  2. Users will be able to import these beats into BandLab Studio and add vocals, instruments, and additional production to create their own unique tracks.
  3. This feature will enable users to tap into Sony’s expertise in spatial audio and create music that pushes the boundaries of what’s possible.

A New Era of Collaboration and Support

The partnership will also open up future opportunities to integrate new technology and accessible tools for music creation, providing exclusive access to newly developed educational programmes.

“By working with Sony Corporation, we’re combining our strengths to empower creators at every step of their journey. It’s not just about what artists can do today, but about what becomes possible when they’re given the right support to experiment and grow.”

Meng Ru Kuok, CEO and Co-Founder of BandLab Technologies, highlighted the importance of this partnership, emphasizing that it will create additional opportunities to amplify BandLab artist success stories to a global audience.

Unlocking Creative Potential

NME Cover star alumni D4VD, who shot into the charts in 2021 with music he made on BandLab, is a prime example of how the platform can empower creators.

D4VD has credited BandLab with changing his life, allowing him to make music from his home without compromising on quality.

“[BandLab] has literally changed my life,” he said. “I couldn’t ask for more – it’s allowed me to make music from my house without any professional mic, as I literally just use Apple earbuds and the app on my phone.
