In 2017, the Royal Theatre in Toronto underwent a significant audio system upgrade, marking a new era in sound quality for the venue. Key Features of the Venue 2 System
The Venue 2 system, installed at the Royal Theatre, features six Lectrosonics HHa transmitters and six SMQV.2 receivers. These components work together to provide a reliable and high-quality audio experience for the theatre’s productions. HHa Transmitters: The HHa transmitters are designed to provide high-quality audio transmission over long distances. They use advanced technology to minimize interference and ensure a stable signal. SMQV.2 Receivers: The SMQV.2 receivers are designed to provide high-quality audio reception and processing.

In the early 2000s, the radio frequency landscape in Canada was undergoing a significant transformation. The government had implemented new regulations to reduce interference and promote more efficient use of the spectrum.
We also purchased a new sound system for the theatre, which includes a digital audio workstation (DAW) and a range of microphones and speakers. The total cost of the equipment was £1,500.
Upgrading the Theatre Sound System
The theatre has undergone significant upgrades to its sound system, with a focus on improving the overall audio quality and increasing the flexibility of the system.
Managing Channel Count
The McPherson is a small, 1,000-seat venue, but it can accommodate up to 1,500 people with the addition of a balcony. Despite its compact size, the McPherson has a large channel count, with over 1,000 channels of audio equipment. This can be a challenge for frequency coordination, as it requires careful planning to ensure that each channel is properly routed and configured. Key considerations for managing channel count include: + Identifying and labeling each channel + Creating a detailed channel plan + Ensuring that all channels are properly connected and configured + Regularly testing and verifying the channel plan
Managing Rotating Rosters
