Early Beginnings

Growing up in Trinidad and Tobago, Marlon and Sean were immersed in the island’s vibrant music scene. They spent countless hours attending concerts and festivals, soaking up the energy of calypsonians and soca artists. Their love for live sound was sparked by the infectious rhythms and melodies that filled the air.

He was our idol, and we all wanted to be like him. He was the first to bring his son [son of Frank Agarrat], [son’s name], to the studio, where [son’s name] was a child of 8 years old. Now, I’m not sure if that’s a story worth sharing. But it’s something I learned a lot from. That was a huge mistake, and it was a huge learning experience. One of the biggest mistakes I ever made was when I was 9 years old and I wanted to be a DJ. I told my parents, and I was so excited to start my DJ career. But then my parents told me, No, you’re going to be a doctor. My parents were not supportive of my passion for DJing. They wanted me to follow a more traditional career path.

The Unlikely Friendship

Marlon Sturge, a talented musician, and Sean Sturge, a skilled monitor engineer, formed an unlikely friendship in Trinidad and Tobago.

They might be in a good mood, or they might be in a bad mood, and that can affect the way they work. It’s not just about the technical skills, it’t’s about the creative process and how the artist interacts with the monitor.

We hear things in a way that is unique to our culture and background. This is why we can understand each other without needing to explain or justify anything. We know exactly what each other is saying, even if we don’t say it out loud. We can pick up on the underlying tone and emotions behind the words. We can sense the underlying message and meaning. We can even sense the underlying context and background.
